ICFAR is hosted by Central St Martins and is responsible to college and university research committees, while its research and practice remit extends across the University. It is one of the eight university and college wide centres and units that promote specific areas of art and design research.
The Centre is run on a daily basis by its Director and Administrator who are contactable by phone, email and available in person to answer queries on key aspects of fine art practice based research. ICFAR’s Management Board oversees strategic and financial planning while the Centre’s projects and programmes are supported and developed by a Management Team. The Team draws widely from research active staff across the University; it represents ongoing research activities hosted by and associated with ICFAR, as well as postgraduate research students and staff. It is the ‘editorial board’ of the Centre, an active forum for developing and running projects, and a means of broadening dialogic scope to individuals, course and programmes across the university.
ICFAR has an international remit and the Centre’s Advisory Group helps to maintain and extend ICFAR’s place within the international art context, proposing collaborative projects that deepen and develop ICFAR’s interests, and an advocacy role within Higher Education internationally.
